The Links, Incorporated is a volunteer service organization of concerned, committed and talented women who are linked in the chain of friendship and who are interested in enhancing the quality of life in various communities. The organization was founded in 1946 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and has 285 chapters located in 41 states, the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. Its membership consists of over 14,000 women.
In making contributions to society, the members of The Links, Incorporated focus on educational, cultural and civic activities. The Baltimore (MD) Chapter of the Links established a scholarship program for African American students to attend historically Black colleges or universities. The program has been designed for a graduating senior from a Baltimore City high school to receive an assigned mentor, up to $1,500 per semester for four years and a career network for internships and job opportunities.
